I am a psychotherapist offering individual therapy virtually and in person to people of all ages. After completing my BA in Psychology and French at Mount Holyoke College, I immediately began working full-time in human services before earning my MSW from Smith College School for Social Work. Since 2013, I have worked in a range of mental health settings, including residential programs, therapeutic camps, academic research, public schools, and, most recently, at a community mental health clinic in Springfield.
I value the relationship between therapist and client as the most important factor in creating meaningful change. What "change" means is unique to every person; you are the expert of your own experience, and any goals we set in therapy will be shaped by your own values and hopes for your life. My work is grounded in a person-centered, trauma-informed, relational approach informed by psychodynamic theory, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I seek to validate personal pain while also recognizing the role of social inequality and marginalization. I enjoy incorporating play, music, and creative expression into sessions with clients of any age. In the past, clients have often described my style as warm and down-to-earth. I offer a steady, nonjudgmental presence for intense emotions, deep pain, and experiences that may be stigmatized or feel difficult to discuss.
I consider myself a generalist and am energized by the diversity of life experiences, identities, and goals that people bring to therapy. I do have particular experience and interest in supporting autistic and neurodivergent individuals, people navigating disability and chronic illness, people seeking to explore body image and self-esteem, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Whether or not you identify with any of these areas of interest, I invite you to reach out to explore whether we might make a good fit.
Practicing as a therapist is truly a privilege and joy in my life. Outside of this work, you'll typically find me hiking and camping, solving jigsaw and crossword puzzles, listening to emo and indie rock, or looking at interesting maps.
