Jean Paul is a clinical social worker with six years of experience providing home-based treatment for refugee youth, children, and families. He also has an additional two years of experience in the outpatient setting offering individual and group/family psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and dual-diagnosed clients.
Jean Paul strongly believes in collaborating with clients to achieve treatment goals. His approach to treatment incorporates various modalities, including strength-based, client-centered, task-centered, trauma-informed, and relational approaches. Because of his multicultural and multilingual skills, Jean Paul has been able to create a safe space for his mostly refugee and underserved population, establishing a therapeutic alliance that is crucial for successful treatment outcomes.
Throughout his career, Jean Paul has worked with individuals and families facing a range of emotional and mental health concerns, with a particular focus on anxiety disorders, trauma and stressor-related disorders, and depressive disorders.
Before embarking on his journey to become a clinical social worker, Jean Paul spent an additional five years engaged in conflict resolution and peacebuilding work in Rwanda. He holds a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) from Smith College School for Social Work.
