Joey is a licensed certified social worker (LCSW) with a BA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MSW from the Smith College School for Social Work. They have training in psychodynamic, relational, and trauma-informed approaches to therapy, and they have experience working in residential, community mental health, and group practice settings.

Joey believes therapy can be a space for reflecting on patterns in one’s life in order to contextualize both the past and the present. They orient toward the ongoing legacy of all that each client has learned and inherited in their life. Manifestations of history in the present can be both indicative of strengths in addition to adaptations that may not feel sustainable or desired in the long run. Joey works to attend to the present impacts of early relationships and environments in order to help clients hold both their internal experiences as well as their external relationships with care and nuance. The process that unfolds between therapist and client often allows for the recognition of deeply held beliefs about oneself and one’s relationships. Joey aims to build steady, supportive, and playful connections that open possibilities for new and deeper relating.
