Kirsten is a psychotherapist who believes that people have an inherent ability to grow, and can get stuck in this growth due to aspects of themselves and how they interact with their environment that can be invisible to them. In therapy, she engages with patients in a collaborative effort to make the invisible visible and make meaning of their lives and experiences. Kirsten offers a compassionate and containing space to uncover and address repeating patterns–which can often show up as symptoms–that are keeping patients feeling “stuck” or in crisis. This work naturally leads to a new mode of thinking, which opens patients up to more growth, flexibility, clarity, and choice.

In listening to each patient’s unique story, Kirsten is attentive to the complex ways that they are impacted by cultural and societal issues. She has experience working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and who struggle with diverse mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. She holds a Master of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work and has received specialized training in psychodynamic psychotherapy from Cambridge Health Alliance / Harvard Medical School. She is currently continuing her training in psychodynamic psychotherapy through the William Alanson White Institute.
