Lina hopes to build meaningful relationships with her clients, so she might support them in creating the lives they dream of. She also has a graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling and is eligible for licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Lina has worked in inpatient substance use treatment centers, residential recovery programs for women with young children, a methadone clinic, a college counseling center, and a community outreach program for adults with DMH services.

As a counselor, Lina relies on a number of theoretical approaches. She is passionate about humanistic, existential, and feminist/social justice frameworks. She believes in every person’s capacity for growth, in their right to self-determination, and in the power of social forces to impact mental health.

Lina finds cognitive and dialectical behavioral strategies helpful in alleviating suffering. She values emotional exploration as a means of healing. She is mindful of trauma and its varied effects, and she cares deeply about understanding the experiences that have shaped her clients. She looks forward to meeting you!
