Get support in a group setting. Learn communication strategies for improving interpersonal connection, while identifying experiences which have led you to seek treatment. In this person-centered, trauma-informed group, participants can expect to become more comfortable with communication about emotions, and more engaged as an active listener.
The group will foster interpersonal engagement, provide psychoeducation for identifying common mental health symptoms such as episodic depression and generalized anxiety. Skill building will focus on improving negative self-talk, developing a better understanding of mood and thinking, enhancing coping with distress and daily worries, and enhancing motivation and self awareness. Identifying these things may offer lasting relief of symptoms, and it also may function as a way of becoming organized for the eventual work with an individual therapist.
This group is trauma informed and welcoming, and practiced using a social justice framework.
