Whitney is a clinical social worker who is particularly passionate about helping children and families navigate challenges. She has specialized training in working with clients of all ages with trauma and is committed to supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community by offering gender-affirming care.
Whitney’s clinical approach is grounded in person-centered and attachment theories. She believes that building a strong therapeutic relationship is at the core of successful therapy and provides an empathic, warm, nonjudgmental atmosphere where clients can build trust. Play therapy provides the basis for much of her work with children, allowing even the youngest of clients the opportunity to participate in the therapeutic process. She also supports healing of the mind-body connection through mindfulness and somatic practices. Whitney has an extensive background in early childhood education and holds a Master’s in Education in Child Study and Early Education from UMass Amherst. Her interest in furthering her ability to support children and families led her to pursue a Master’s in Social Work at Simmons University.
