Robin Wedell-Walker is in his second and final year of the Springfield College MSW program. He provides psychotherapy to adult clients, individually and in groups, employing a relational, client driven, trauma informed approach. He is committed to practicing in a way that is antiracist, feminist, LGBTQIA inclusive, and supportive of members of any and all marginalized communities.
Before enrolling in a graduate program, Robin worked for two years as a community outreach social worker in Holyoke Mass. He provided practical support and human connection to members of the community living with major mental health disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and complex PTSD. He also gained experience working with people living with addiction, both active and in recovery.
Robin aims to combine radical honesty with affirming encouragement to create a sustainable dynamic of personal growth. He believes that false praise and comforting untruths are a profound disservice to clients and he strives to communicate compassionately, authentically, and kindly in his clinical work. Robin has lived in the Northampton/Amherst area for his entire adult life, and looks forward to the opportunity to give back to the community that has played such a large role in shaping who he is today.
