"The best way out is always through" - Robert Frost. Life invariably presents us with challenges that can overwhelm our capacity to cope. Expected and unexpected life transitions, interpersonal stress, and academic or job-related pressures can inhibit our ability to successfully navigate life. Maureen views therapy as a journey fostered by curiosity. It is a place for exploration, reflection, healing, and growth. Therapy is an opportunity to gain a greater awareness of why we struggle and to discover and explore the roots of such discomfort with a safe and supportive person.
Maureen believes that effective therapy is never one size fits all. Grounded in a client centered approach, Maureen tailors treatment to your individual needs. She strives to provide non-judgmental and compassionate care through a collaborative process that can help clients develop long lasting and meaningful changes in their lives.
Maureen is a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years' experience working with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with a range of emotional and interpersonal challenges. She received her MSW from Springfield College School of Social Work and her PhD from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. Maureen is currently an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Westfield State University.
