Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) occurs in 10-25% of people with ovaries, with similar rates between cisgender women and trans masculine people. People with PCOS may experience diabetes, high blood pressure, body hair growth, weight gain, infertility or pregnancy complications. Some people with PCOS may feel pressure to conform to beauty standards about how women are supposed to look. Unfortunately, many people in the community are not aware of PCOS, and health providers may not fully understand it. As a result, individuals with PCOS often experience higher rates of anxiety and depression. This can be overwhelming and isolating, but it's important to remember that you are not alone!

If you're looking for support, a group led by a primary care provider and a clinical social worker can help you better understand your body and mind. The group leaders and participants will support you in learning to love yourself for who you are, and empower you to navigate a range of medical options. Mindfulness, which involves cultivating compassionate acceptance of each moment, has been shown to improve both mood and physical health. Group sessions will include education about physical and mental health, mindfulness training, and group discussion.
